Sales Requests

Welcome to the Sales Requests Home page. The Sales Request system was designed and implemented by AS-DB, based on a proposal from the AS-DI-OP section. This section is responsible for the administrative procedures at CERN. It was asked by the DPO's to make a proposal for a simple procedure to sell obsolete and surplus equipment.

The resulting application is an online auction system on the Web, with which anyone having a valid AIS login id can offer equipment owned by CERN for sale. After the agreement of the DPO of the division to which the items belong, a responsible in the SPL division fixes the price and people can make their bid using the catalogue on the Web. After a certain amount of time, the SPL division decides which bid will be accepted, and the transaction is closed. Items for which no interest was shown, will be either donated or destroyed. The system has been fully integrated with the inventory system. Active or obsolete items can be picked from the division's inventory and offered for sale. After the sale has been completed, the status of the items in the inventory will be updated automatically.
