1. IntroductionOracle HR is a Human Resources Management software purchased from Oracle Corporation UK. It is based on Oracle 7, a relational database management software and runs on UNIX. Oracle HR has been parametrized and customized to some extent to match the CERN requirements in this administrative area while still enabling our implementation to follow the successive versions of the product delivered twice a year by the vendor. Oracle HR is interfaced to a UNIX version of the SIGAGIP Payroll, which we have purchased from CGI (FR). As a complement to Oracle HR and SIGAGIP, we have developed the AVCL application to allow the entry, maintenance and payment of claims. It is our aim to offer to our end users the best possible support in using these applications. This documentation is the basis of our support and you are invited to read it carefully as it will provide you with most of the information that you require to use HR and AVCL efficiently. If you have any problem in using the HR applications, which documentation does not help with, we encourage you to email us at the following electronic mail address: ais.support@cern.ch Please describe very precisely what the problem is: - which screen where you working on when the problem occurred ? - what did you try to achieve and which sequence of actions/keystrokes got you there? - which error message did you get?
